For those who may have missed knowing of his passing...,... Ondossagon lost our beloved Principal. Mr. Schmidt. Keith Z. Schmidt, age 87 of Ashland, WI passed away Saturday, Feb 10, 2018 at Northern Lights Healthcare Center in Washburn, WI. Keith was born Jan 20, 1931 in Ladysmith, WI the son of Walter and Harriet (Zuck) Schmidt. He graduated from Ladysmith High School after which he attended U.W. River Falls, WI, earning a bachelor’s degree in education and then he attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, earning his master’s degree in education. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1952 to 1954. On June 9, 1956 he was united in marriage to Patricia S. Nelson in Afton, MN. He was the principal of the Ondossagon High School, near Ashland, for over 30 years, a job he loved, until retiring in 1990. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking an annual trip to Canada for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer and spent 25 winters as a snow bird in Florida with Pat and
